About the Foundation

A small local charity that raises money for animal and wildlife care in northwest BC.

What we do

The Northwest Animal Foundation raises money for two organizations in our region: the Kitimat Community Humane Society and the Prince Rupert Wildlife Shelter.

We don't run a shelter ourselves. We take donations from people and businesses across the Northwest and put that money where it's needed most, so the people caring for animals can spend more time on the animals and less time fundraising.

What your donation pays for

Animal care. Food, vet bills, medicine and daily care for animals while they recover or wait for a home.

Building projects. Larger costs like kennels, enclosures and repairs that are hard to cover from day to day budgets.

Running costs. Power, heat, insurance and the other bills that keep both places open all year.
